It seems that people randomly find my journal sometimes, so here's a public post because I don't make them often. Rather than commenting on my last random (!!) public post, you guys can do that here. :)

I can almost smell the pages that are being stacked onto the newsstands as I type... Well, if HanaYume was carried at newsstands. Which I seem to remember it isn't. Either way. It EXISTS in a TANGIBLE FORM! How... lame of me. Oh well. Furuba is the one fandom that I'm a tard about. Why not embrace it?

(And what an excellent way that was to end a public post. ¬_¬;;)

And I'm loving this new 'Browse' feature for icons. Did anyone else notice how it was briefly available for comments? Alas, no longer. Entries only now. Still, it's a nifty feature. :3

Oh dude! If I was eight months older (and my grandparents were from a country more interesting than Italy) then I would SOOOOO qualify for this!! How good would that be! Omg! And it's an ABC documentary, so it's not going to be cheap or dodgy. Argh. That's really annoying! A free trip to Castiglione? How good would that be!! That's really, really annoying. Why couldn't I be descended from people from an interesting country! Tropical Cyclone Larry

Cyclone Larry (why'd they have to name it Larry? =_=;;) has hit. It swept right over the top of Kurrimine Beach (where our beach house is), and directly onto my grandparent's house. It's now a category 5, and is bigger than the one that hit New Orleans. My grandmother and aunt have both been on national radio this morning, talking about what's happening in the centre of the disaster. So far, everyone's okay. But as my father was speaking to my grandfather this morning, they lost the roof of their house. Fortunately they were selling it and building a new one in town, so they'll have somewhere to live soon. Hopefully some of that house has survived. He and my grandmother are waiting out the storm in the strong room in the office downstairs. In case anyone sees something on the news, they live in Silkwood - only slightly inland from where the cyclone first hit.

My aunt and cousins are staying in their house, in Innisfail, and last time Dad spoke to them everybody was fine. I'll keep you guys posted.

EDIT Oops, apparantly it's called 'Tropical Cyclone Larry', not 'Hurricane Larry'.

Here's a link to some news from yesterday about it. See how they mention that the area 'between Innisfail and Ingham' is the most at risk? That's exactly where my grandparents are.

EDIT 3 More on Larry. Looks like the beach house probably hasn't survived, seeing as Kurrimine was hit so hard. I'm just glad it's half over now, and that my family are okay.

I am overloaded with work. D: I just found out that this English assignment is the MOST IMPORTANT thing I will EVER do. In English. And if you do badly on this, you're fucked. Well YAY. Nevermind that it's due MONDAY and I haven't seen me teacher ALL FREAKING WEEK because she's been at some stupid conference thing. I AM GOING TO DIE.

Despite said workload, I finished Kim Sam Soon last night. WOE IS ME. I LOVE THAT SERIES. I WILL BUY IT! ONE DAY. HYUN BIN IS SEX. Daniel Henney is waaaaaaay hotter when he's not acting badly. See? DO YOU SEE HOW HOT THAT BOY IS? I knew not of his shining hotness until after I saw pictures of MODEL!him. Yeeeees. Hot. (Sam Soon is my idol. But I think that's a bad thing?)

I WANT MY STUPID SHOE. It SHOULD be in my room, because that's where the other one is. But it's not here! Y____Y My poor doggie will never get her walk. (Notice how this is her second walk this week? It's part of my plan to get out of my room and stop being such a fatass. And she's really out of shape too. Esp for a dog.)

Mum brought home kittens! She heard them wailing near her office, and the maintenance guy found them for her. They're ADORABLE. There's two of them, both dark grey. One's really, really skinny, and I'm really worried about it. I hope they're okay. I'm keeping them warm next to me wrapped up in an old towel while Mum buys pet milk to feed them.

Hi!

In case you haven't run into me yet, uh... I'm back! Japan was goooood. I miss Tokyo. And, um... Photos later. What I really wanted to do is tell you all to watch this silly Japanese DDR commercial with Kamenashi Kazuya and Akanishi Jin. (Kame's in pink and Jin's in green.) My aunt saw it and asked if they were boys. Heh heh. Kame is so GAY. It's worth watching for a laugh.

In other news, my iPod died. The battery is totally gone. If it's not still under warranty I don't know what I can do. *sigh*

A bunch of random relatives are coming around for lunch today and I DO NOT WANT TO BE HERE. (Sal, if you see this before 1pm feel free to invite me round.) Stupid family. I want to be sleeping, not being polite! Grah.

EDIT LJ just proved cooler than I thought. I didn't know it saved customisations for layouts that you weren't using. I mean, I'd customised Component way back, then changed to Flexible Squares. I was messing around with layouts tonight, and then I find out that my old layout is still there? Neato! :D

Just a quick note to say that I won't be around for the next two weeks or so. Exams start on Wednesday and my last one is on Thursday of the following week. These are the important ones, so if you see me online you have the right to swear at me or abuse me or do whatever you can to get me offline, because I NEED TO STUDY. A LOT. (Sorry if I haven't been replying to comments or commenting on anyone's journals lately - it's nothing personal. I haven't had much time lately.)

Actually, I'll probably be around after Monday the 30th, because that's my last tricky exam. (Because I'm lazy I probably won't do much study for Japanese. Or BCT, for that matter, because that's an assignment.) So! I guess you'll see me on the weekend before that... ~.~

Staying home today, because my stomach is... I don't know how to put this... KILLING ME? Yeah, that sounds right. I think it's something I ate on Saturday. I can't keep food down, and I was up and down a lot last night so I didn't get much sleep. Blargh. I haven't been very well lately. ; ;

Saturday was the school's fundraiser thingy at the racetrack (aptly named the "Race Day") and I was serving drinks. Never again will I see a larger concentration of drunken yuppies. I hated it. It was enough to make me want to study art at uni and live an impoverished and philosophical life.

Then Sunday was more musical rehearsals, and that was fun. Next week we go to the theatre! Not for bump-in (that doesn't happen until the end of July) just to work out staging and stuff. I love it when we're in the theatre! So much fun! Kya~

And this morning I slept in, tried to eat, gave up and then watched Tsubasa 5, YakiPan 25, Honey and Clover 2 and checked my email. And I had no mail, which was sad, but Honey and Clover was really good. I really like this series. After so much YakiPan, it's maturity and art is refreshing. And I'm going to call it Hachikuro from now on, regardless of whatever the 'official' shortening of it might be. :P I really like Yamada Ayumi, as well as Sexy Glasses Guy, whose name I can never ever remember. Hagu is easily my least favourite, but that's not to say I don't like her. I like all of the characters in Hachikuro, but... all she ever does is wibble! Whenever her and Morita are on screen together, she's either hiding behind curtains or her eyes are doing that crazy black circle thing. o_oa Oh well. I'll wait until I've seen more before I decide to hate her. (Morita is still my favourite!)

So. Guess I'd better go do some homework... ._.

(And I'll make this public, because I don't see any reason not to! :D)

EDIT: I just spent five minutes and half a can of "Naturally Fresh" Raid trying to kill a giant fly in the guest room. I won. >D

Yay! I wrote a review for E76! That was sort of constructive, right? Right?

Okay, maybe not.

MY DAY IN A NUTSHELL: School, drama assessment piece (OMGWTF A!!), more school, walked home, watched YakiPan 23-24 (one hour special yay!!), watched Honey and Clover 1 (very good - go watch it now!), went shopping for a pair of black trousers for school, came home, wrote the review, had dinner. And now I'm here.

I really have to go finish that application for the Japanese bursary now, because it has to be into my teachers by Monday. Crap. I also have to do homework. Puuuu. (STILL haven't seen Tsubasa 5 either.)

Looks like I can return to life as usual now. ^^;;; Crap, now I have to find something new to read until "mid to late April". Psht. Stupid seven week break... But at least now I can venture into the fandom without fear of spoilers! And I'm not sad about L. And it looks like that bastard had a few tricks left too, so I say んべ〜 to him. Good riddance, dickhead! ~~And maybe now we'll see some hot Raito/Misa action.~~ And if I have to see "Light-kun" ONE MORE TIME, then... I don't know, but it won't be pretty! And you know what's sad? I have more DN icons that anything else now, including Furuba and FMA. This time last year, Furuba pwnd all. Well, maybe it was closer to July or something, but still! And in the space of like, 4 days DN blows everything else out of the water. Hm.

And why is there so much handcuff chapter L/Raito porn!? And why is it ALWAYS L/Raito in that order? Not that I'm complaining, it's just... there's a lot of it out there. You'd think people who read DN would be a bit more creative.

Whee new layout finished! Nothing special, but I like it. ^-^ One day, when I have PS again (I miss j00, o supreme tool of wonderment!) I'll make myself a header. And I gave myself a new default pic too, but it doesn't really match. :s It'll do. I laughed out loud when I found it on the HD though. So true. Also, Raito is hot.

And Mum just found a severely injured possum clinging to the rafters outside! Drama! Poor little thing. It'd been mauled by a dog or hit by a car or something. It's nose was all bloody. But it was clearly still alive, and it came down to eat the banana Mum put there for it, and we gave it some water, so (hopefully) it should be okay.

And seeing as how a lot of random people voted on my silly Howl poll, here's a silly layout poll!!

Um.... If you happen to see my LJ and it looks totally effed up and gross, that'd be because I'm changing the colours around. I got sick of the stupid pre-made "Sugar and Spice" colour scheme, so I did something different. :P Still fixing it up though, so it'll look like crap for maybe half an hour or so. Unless I go watch TV or something. Anyway! New background from Groovy Lizard. Go check them out. It kinda reminds me of old wallpaper. The pink is random, but I like it. But now I'll need a new default icon... dammit.

And RIP Pope John Paul II.

YAY. It is early and Anne stayed TWO NIGHTS in a ROW and we DIDN'T SLEEP. And I had COFFEE. And you all know what that means... DUM DUM DUMMM~~

Okie. Well I've had this window open for waaaaaaaaaaay too long now. -_- Kinda sleepy. But YakiPan 16 just finished downloading!!! So I'll have to watch that first.

Oh!! And for about 18 hours, I've been in love with Akanishi Jin (Korean site wtf). The guy has no body fat though. Straaaange. But still - really, really hot. And I don't like Japanese guys, so that's really odd. (You may know him - as we did, for a while - as Cool Hair Guy, from Gokusen 2.) And he's exactly the same height as I am! o_o We're the same blood type, too.

I know I updated before, but I really don't care. Sal, at the next opportunity WE ARE GOING FOR A GOOD OLD FASHIONED SAL&SAM WALK. There will be no procrastinating, and there will be no iPods. I say that because of me, not you btw.

Anyway. I'm sort of really tired. Had a boring day. Ended up watching Yakipan 1-3 with Anne, because she wanted to know why the hell I kept raving about it in maths. I think she liked it.

I will try to get up to Dad's to get those scans done, but he starts actual work again tomorrow, and I'll have to get Anne's copy of HYD, so there's really no guarantee that'll be done anytime soon. You can expect some scans and summaries of a few of the HanaYume yomikiri though. I'm loving Hana Matsuri right now. The guy (whatsisname again?) is COOL. It should totally be scanlated. The girl (Tae?) can look retarded sometimes though. Still, the art rocks. (Stupid shop had run out of Regular!HanaYume so it had to be Hana to Yume Plus, meaning nothing but one-shots. Not complaining though. One-shots rock my socks.) Just who is Fujimoto Yuuki anyway?

And contrary to the excessive hyperness of my previous entry, I'm totally snowed under with work this weekend. I think I just might implode. I don't know how I'll ever be able to identify my specimens for Biol, and there's no way in hell I'll ever pass my maths exam. Oh and there's Jap and Drama to fail, too. And it's only a three day week!!
